Demonstration of building energy demands and requirements
The demonstration of the building energy/power demands evaluates the following:
- heating systems;
- cooling systems;
- hot water preparation;
- ventilation;
- lighting devices.
The outcome and result of the demonstration process is a graphical datagram demonstrating the energy supplied into the building and proportional demonstration of individual consumptions. This diagram is similar to consumption printouts required for appliances. Results of the demonstration may be
used when comparing several buildings while focusing for example, on better location during a purchase or lease of a real estate property, or they may reveal excessive energy consumption. Based on the relevant law the building energy requirements and demands must be evaluated:
- during construction of new buildings,
- if larger modifi cations have been performed on already completed buildings with square area above 1,000 m2, and which affect the building energy demands and requirements;
- when selling or leasing building or a section of the building and when it is necessary to perform the evaluation of the building energy requirements as specifi ed in the above bullets.
Building energy requirements and demands specifi ed in Amendment No. 177/2006 Coll., Act No. 406/2000 Coll., describing energy management regulations. Implementation regulation describing building energy demands and requirements was issued under No. 148/2007 Coll. It is the implementation of European Directive No. 2009/91/ES, the Building Energy Demands and Requirements. New buildings should comply with the current energy requirements. Large reconstructions of older buildings should be viewed as an opportunity to lower the building energy demands and requirements. Compliance with the relevant energy requirements must be supported by a certifi cate demonstrating the building effi ciency and energy requirements, which may not be older than 10 years.
Scope of offered services
- Evaluation of the responsibility to demonstrate the building energy requirements.
- Assessment of thermal and technical properties of structures and the building energy requirements.
- Processing of building energy requirement certifi cates. Evaluation of the level of compliance with the building energy requirements. Graphical output/diagram is laminated and displayed at a conspicuous place.
Building the operators or administrators managing buildings used in the school sector, health care, culture, business and commercial buildings, sport halls, hotels and buildings providing accommodation and hospitality services, customer centres focusing on water management, energy, transportation and telecommunication, as well as buildings used for public administration purposes with square area above 1,000 m2 are obligated to display this certifi cate on publicly accessible and conspicuous location.
